Each month we feature inspiring teachers from all sorts of healing modalities.
This month's featured teacher is Asha Kalka...
Asha stepped into her first yoga class at the age of 16 as a form of physical therapy after sustaining a spinal injury. This ignited a passion to share the emotional and physical healing she found with others. In 2007 she started her first yoga teacher training and in 2010, completed 500 hours at YogaWorks in Costa Mesa, California. She believes that the physical and emotional bodies are linked and can be accessed through movement and breathwork.
She has taught an integrative blend of Restorative, Hatha, and Vinyasa flow classes since 2009. Following her intuition, Asha’s embrace of her talents and skills grew to include energy work, sound healing with Quartz Crystal singing bowls, and guided meditation. The path of holistic and intuitive healing is a lifelong journey and Asha is dedicated to always deepening and expanding her knowledge.
She is currently the studio manager at The DEN Meditation in Studio City, CA where you can find her holding Sound Bath meditations.
Don't miss a Sound Bath meditation at DEN Studio City on August 18 from 7:30-8:45 PM

I'm Hannah, aka 8 Limb Mama. For the past decade I have been sharing my passion and deep commitment to personal evolution through yoga. In addition to my teachings, I support women who are experiencing major life transitions such as pregnancy, postpartum, relationships, career, etc. to embody their most natural self-expression so they can become their most confident, creative, sensual, and empowered version of self. As a solution to the dire need I've seen for the healing, growth, & sisterhood of women and mothers as they walk this path to becoming their most authentic self, I created
The 8 Limb Path to Sacred Wombynhood.

Sarah began doing yoga in college, however she did not get serious about her practice until working demanding hours in the film industry. It was also during this time that Sarah’s mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. The mat provided refuge and healing as her mother’s illness progressed. Sarah realized that time was too fleeting to not be spent doing what one loves. She quit the film business to pursue her passions. Her mother was able to see her teach once before passing away.
For Sarah, yoga is beyond the postures it is a guide for living and she is changing the world, teaching self-love one person a time!
